For Ambulatory Medicine site visits we met over zoom to discuss cases and journal articles. At the first I presented a patient complaining of sore throat. They had unilateral tonsil swelling, and we suspected peritonsillar abscess. The provider I was working with also suspected strep throat or the early onset of PTA so opted to treat with antibiotics and close follow up as the patient didn’t have any difficulty breathing or voice changes. The patient’s status improved and they avoided going to the ER.

At the second visit I presented a patient with bilateral otitis externa. We treated with oral and topical antibiotics and placed an ear wick in the ear that had greater pain. This was one of a handful patients I saw that had otitis eternal, however the others were unilateral. I chose to present an article about treatment of otitis externa and the optimal antibiotic regiment.
